Aluminum, plaster and print technologies come together in the simple poetic of 2lines. Winnipeg-based emerging artist John Patterson was named an artist to watch in 2013. Since then he has shown throughout Canada and co-founded SCAN, a contemporary art gallery in Winnipeg.
John Patterson is an artist, writer, and poet based in Winnipeg, Canada. Often combining intuitive narrative explorations with visual or text assets taken from the commercial sector, Patterson uses a methodology that aims to reform the understanding, memories, or translations of personal experiences. Patterson obtained his BFA Honours from the University of Manitoba’s School of Art in 2015. Recent exhibitions include External Wall: Anterior Slowdown, Platform Centre for Photographic and Digital Arts, Winnipeg; Anticipating Distance, Avenue Gallery, Vancouver; Fresh Paint / New Constructions, Art Mur, Montreal; and Partying, C Space Gallery, Winnipeg. Patterson has written for Canadian Art Magazine and is a co-founder of SCAN, a contemporary art publication based in Winnipeg.
