Sounds of Curtains (now destroyed) Sydney Opera House investigates the labour of curtains in ten compositions by ten artists from across Canada and Australia. Each artist incorporated recordings made in Sydney, Australia, of one of ten mechanical winches within the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the Sydney Opera House. These mechanical winches were removed in 2017 as part of a larger Sydney Opera House renewal project. This is an archiving of their sounds and includes the work of crys cole, Christine Fellows, hannah_g, Casey Mecija, Gail Priest, Judith Rice, Andrea Roberts, Kelly Ruth, Süss, and Roger White.
The album is not available in digital format and can only be purchased on vinyl. A bonus risograph insert contains a written response to the artists project by Jeanne Randolph and artwork by Kelly Campbell. The artist would like the thank the Winnipeg Arts Council.
